Hi all,
A fair number of us Meebs use Macs at work and at home. Though we do miss the awesome features in the Windows Meebo Notifier, over the last few months we’ve added a couple of features that make Meebo on a Mac a little better:
- If you make a Meebo standalone browser using Fluid, and also have Growl installed, you’ll get IM notifications whenever someone messages you and you’re not in the Meebo application.
- We also wanted to support the open-source Mozilla Prism effort, so as of this last Meebo release, we also support IM notifications through Growl for Mozilla’s Prism.
To get Growl notifications on the Mac, just download either Prism or Fluid, install Growl as well, and you’ll be on your way. Thanks!

The mozilla plugin is definitely a step in the right direction.
A KDE4 widget interface would be great… and having a Windows 7 widget (or whatever it’s called) would cause some serious commotion!

Meebo and mac do not get along, I’m never able to cam with my boyfriend (who’s states away) because he’s on a mac and his cam won’t work with meebo, others have said this as well, and meebo always kicks him off or doesn’t even let him sign on half the time, is meebo doing anything to help this?

meebo and mac do not get along, i ‘ve never aable to talk my girl friend i think this website you can use very easily way when u go to meebo .com you will find msn, face bok talk, and etc but almost you rn’t find you friens are online!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great feature using it with Fluid.
A script that makes it more compact to run in the menu bar would be a great thing to have as well or maybe a nice dock icon to use for Meebo. Quite sloppy right now using the website icon actually…

Colin Dean, Chris Lees – The current versions of the Mozilla platform support libnotify on Ubuntu, so the 1.0 release of Prism will get this support.

I do not want Meebo on my computer, every time I try to uninstall it, it says that it is running when it’s not. I’m signed out. It slows down my computer. I do not want it. Help me here please! Thanks! TJS

I’d prefer for attention to be focused on OSS, like Fedora and Ubuntu, and less on Macs, which are overpriced, underpowered and largely unimpressive systems.

Meebo is a great free product ! I have just started to use it and find it very intuitive and easy to get accustomed to. Well done.
Wish I could figure out how to get many people ( all 3 of the webmasters ) onto the same window – so that anyone comining to the site and meeboing – can be responded to by any one of the webmasters. So instead of one-to-one chat – it would be one-to-many
Any ideas ?

I dont’ use MacOS, but it sure is a good thing to support more platforms.
I’ll have a look into libnotify support on Prism 1.0, though (up until now I just used Prism + AllTray, to get an unobstrusivve, web-based IM programme — but it seriously lacked notifications, I always had to check every chat window if I left the computer for a minute).
This is good news for me
And since I have a Windows computer at hand at the office for a few more weeks, I’ll try that notifier thing on it.
I wonder if there is a public API for it; if so, maybe I’ll try to make my own notifier for my desktop.

Little glitch with Fluid. The left part of Meebo login main screen doesn’t appear on my screen. The single services login (Msn, Yahoo, Myspace, Aim) are ok, only the main meebo login is missing.
Everything work correctly with Safari 3 and Firefox…
I’ve rebuilded Fluid app twice, switched on/of Fluid javascripr prefs, cleared caches etc… no luck.
Any suggestion?

I saw a comment that meebo and the webcam function do not play well together. It works fine for my husband and I…we just used it yesterday. He was at home on the pc using meebo and I was at work using my Mac and we were both able to hear and see each other just fine. Also I’d like to give a big THANK YOU to MikeyK for letting us know about growl…I was just thinking the other day how much it sucked not having my notifier!!

So is this why Meebo is not longer working on the Mac that I always use it on? I usually have it open in Firefox, and can only open it in Safari. Not to mention — LEARN TO BE COMPATIBLE WITH OPERA. Firefox sucks balls any day of the week.
But anyways — the bug that I found — upon opening a new conversation, I typed a message and hit ‘return’. However, the cursor went to the next line. Using the enter key by my num pad did not clear up the problem. Typing ctrl+return – nothing. Alt+return – nothing. Command+return – nothing. Shift+ return — next line, as expected.
I closed Meebo, and opened it again. Same problem.
Kindly go back to what you had before, so that us Macs can use it, or fix your bugs.

I leave my Meebo browser open most all day, and night sometimes.
I’ve been using IM for quite sometime now, I’ve tried many, but I do in fact like Meebo, best!
However, what I encounter often is Meebo — disconnects quite often, while the browser is open completely on it’s own.
Now is this the Browser that disconnects? (I use Mozilla Firefox)
Is it the Meebo service (which I suspect) that automatically disconnects, (for what ever reason?) or is it my Verizon Fios Internet Provider Service that decides to disconnect?
If any one can answer this question, and can lend some sort of advice to avoid this happening or make it go away, or at least happen less often.
I would appreciate some advice, or help, or at least say it happens to other people as well, that it is just what happens?

My friends and I r wondering what’s up with Meebo. When I use Firefox for an internet server, it won’t let me hit meebo the enter key to send the IM. I can receive them, but not send. I’m not sure what the problem is because it works when I use AIM with Firefox and it works when I use Meebo on Safari. Just wondering if anyone knew anything about this or how to fix it. Thanks.

meebo is a gud website, its easier to use and you dont have to download it like some others. it has all types of other messenger from other sites such as: msn my space and more…

first i wana say this is the thing site out ther yet but theres 2 things that would make it the altimate best site especially for me an that is to hav some kind of playlist an a search box to browse the internet that way i wont hav to minimiz the meebo screen just so i can do everything cuz it really makes it hard especially wen your talkin to someone cuz well its hard to explain it just makes it hard so if u could find away to put a playlist an a search box on the screen that would b excelent an very much apreciated thanks for takin the time to read this

Thankful we switched to Macs, though are struggling with learning curves of adjusting from Windows to Mac, and meebo with mac– or there is compatability issues. If no one else is having a problem then it’s just us.

I want to uninstall meebo. I am told it is running and I am not using it. I won’t this gone. I should easil y be able to take this off from Control Panel, but it keeps saying it is running. This is not fair.
