In a startup, you depend on your user community, investors, and fellow entrepreneurs to believe in and help you build your product. There are many people who have contributed to meebo today and I wanted to take a moment to highlight meebo’s first two partners. These are the first two companies who have firmly believed in meebo and who have helped us spread the meebo experience throughout the web.
Netvibes (our first partner!) is a web-based desktop that allows you to consolidate many of the websites you visit into one clean interface. There are many modules available to help you make your own individual Netvibes experience. Gmail? Check. Flickr? Check. meebo? CHECK!
We’ve had a lot of fun working with Tariq and Alex at Netvibes. One of the features that we’re particularly proud of is the meebo tab inside the Netvibes system. The integration has not gone unnoticed, such as in Pete Chasmore’s blog posting on Mashable. So now, if you want to consolidate multiple web sites and services into one place, check out Netvibes.com. You can even click on the button below to go to netvibes and automatically have the meebo widget added in!
meebo has been using WordPress as its blogging platform since our initial launch and we’re proud to have the WordPress team as one of our official partners. From WordPress.com, you can very quickly and easily set up your own, personal blog. Lots of folks use WordPress as their blogging platform such as Om Malik’s blog, The Wall Street Journal’s blog, and Harvard University’s blogs!
When we showed Toni over at WordPress a preview of the meebo me widget, he got super excited and showed it to Matt and the rest of the WordPress team. Up to this point, Flickr and Del.icio.us were the only two third party widgets that you could place on the sidebar of a WordPress.com blog. meebo me became the third external widget, and the first IM widget! That’s a big vote of confidence, and we really appreciate it. Toni and the WordPress team moved incredibly quickly to have the widget ready to go for the launch of meebo me. When we hit a last minute snag, they came up with a truly innovative solution that kept everything on schedule. I simply can’t say enough good things about Toni, Matt, and the rest of the WordPress team. Click the link below to setup a WordPress.com blog.
We hope to partner with more outstanding companies in the days and months ahead, and of course as it all happens, we’ll keep you up to date on the latest happenings at meebo.
Seth

I like the idea, but the implementation isn’t too hot from what I’ve just tested. Meebo is forced into a second tab and doesn’t seem to change the window header when a new message has arrived.

i had been using netvibes now for a few months and it is terrific! new integration with meebo is a great feature. i had usually just had my homepage that automatically opens with firefox be one tab netvibes, one tab meebo. i’ll try using meebo out from within netvibes, but i have 2 small qualms already: 1) the fact that the header doesn’t alert you when a new IM comes, as Paul stated. and 2) that there is no Ctrl+Tab feature in netvibes to switch tabs easily. nonetheless, great work meebo! now let me check out wordpress
August 16th, 2006 at 7:12 am
Valuable information. I myself use WordPress to blog.

I like the integration but I feel so… boxed in in the NetVibes/Meebo window! Is there any way to make it take up all (or most) of the screen in NetVibes? PS. I’m glad the commenter above me left his phone number. That will make responding to him very convienent.
August 17th, 2006 at 7:07 am
I thought it was cool but every time I add a content to any of my tabs the error comes up asking If i intended to leave the page as the session will terminate and so it does.
August 17th, 2006 at 12:18 pm
I’d like meebo in netvibes a lot more if the buddy list and message window were netvibes windows, vs. the entire meebo page being in a netvibes window.
August 17th, 2006 at 6:42 pm
hey!
I love both meebo and wordpress…how about an integration? maybe an advertisement of my blog right beside my nickname ( as the “personal message” in MSN), or maybe a meebo button for wordpress?
keep the good work =-)

Here are some WoW leveling tips that you really want to live by whenever you are leveling. It has helped me out a lot since I started playing and I know they will greatly benefit everyone as well. Tip #1: Stick with a mixture of grinding and questing. One or the other by itself will probably slow down your progress but a nice mixture of both you can achieve the levels you want the fastest. There are tons of guides out there that will show you which quests to do, when to grind, and where to grind. One of my favorite Warcraft Powerlevel Guide.Tip #2: Grab as many quests as possible whenever in a town and don’t return until they are all completed. This cuts down on travel time and it really is a lot of fun turning in 5-9 quests at the same time!Tip #3: Stay focused and have a game plan before logging in. For some people this really isn’t a problem but, I know for me and some of my friends, it really can be hard to focus on leveling and I know I have lost many hours of valuable leveling time due to not having a game plan setup before playing. With a plan of action it really is harder to get side tracked by the auction house, PvP, etc.Tip #4: Don’t die! I know, I knowthat one is kind of a given. Very simple but yet some players don’t follow it. I know your character will die in the course of the game but really I’m talking about trying to do quests or kill mobs that are too high of a level for you. Dying repeatably only slows down your progress so if you find yourself dying over and over again I would either drop the quest or come back later after you gain a few levels. If only Blizzard kept track of how much time is spent running back to corpsesI know I have spent a lot of time doing that.Tip #5: Don’t be afraid of asking for help. Run into that occasional hard quest that you just have to do? Ask your friends/guildies to help you out. Remember to only ask for help when you really need it because if you start taking advantage of someone’s help they will not help you anymore.

Hi Great article for beginners , Having recently started one such organization with a 2 other friends of mine, I feel determination and hard work is equally important and most importantly if such start up is in a developing country like mine, I guess a Co-Founder with good financial support is what a group needs to search for sustainability……… and thank you for your informative posts.
