When Elaine first saw Guitar Hero, her eyes lit up and she became an overnight addict. She got the game over the holiday and when she came back from her break, the side of her first finger was totally numb. Many of us at meebo have enjoyed hours of continuous PlayStation2 playing of the popular game “Guitar Hero” (one and two!) and we wanted to help spread the fun.
meebo’s hosting its very own Guitar Hero night (we’ll supply the guitars) at the Stanford Coffee House (CoHo) this Thursday (Feb 8th) at 7pm on Stanford Campus (Tressider). Danny and Erich (our newest intern) plastered campus with 200 fliers so we’re hoping for a decent turn-out. We’ll be providing lots of food and prizes for participants, and we’d love to see you there (with resumes in hand =p).
The whole team will be there so come on down!

I still praise the day I found meebo: it allows me to keep in touch with the world outside my boss’s Great Wall of Fire. Furthermore it presents me each morning with a little bloggie, telling me about life in sunny California, while the winter here in the Netherlands does not seem to be able to choose between sleet and snow, or just plain drizzle and fog.
But what does annoy me, each morning over, is the fact that the hyperlinks in the blog items (as shown in my meebo IE window) are shown in pink? Mind you: I don’t have anything against pink: my 4 yr old daughter has everything in pink, from her princesses crown to her nightie, but to my eyes pink simply is not legible without banging my head against my flat screen. And we do favour function over form, don’t we?
Anyway: how can I adjust the display style, to make hyperlinks just as legible as the rest ot the text?

Sandy, in Brazil Guitar Hero also is a great success here and I became addicted myself when Nirvana and Guns in the second version heard. (I started for the end, but already I have the one and the two) Today when my life veterinary medicine leaves step some hours touching by vol. maximum of my TV. Somebody knows if is truth the new version based on years 80? A penalty I to live in Brazil and not to have as to dispute some departures with yours. Who knows one day in a version on-line? hey guys, I think you should make your pop-up or pop-out boxes sticky. This way I could group them together when, as I do now, I have three boxes open and running. To make it unique you could have them seek eachother out, and crawl across the screen to stick together. The real plus would be that I could move them and minimize them at the same time if needed. Ok, love Meebo, love the commercial.

I’m a guitar hero addict, but check out guitar hero 2 the songs are soooo much cooler. BTW I have never played a guitar before and never really into rock and roll, closest thing I ever got to rock or roll before guitar hero was Cold Play and a little Jack Johnson =)

Our library does Guitar Hero every Monday after school. Usually get 20-30 teens/tweens. They also love meebo, since it lets them chat without having to make us load (and keep up-to-date) a variety of chat software on our 20+ public Internet stations.

When GHII comes out for 360, if they allow you to download the first game’s songs, I’m getting a 360. But I’m lovin’ GHII on PS2.

I have beat both the first and second. Its not that good of a game. No. You need a guitar her o controller, which is a guitar-looking controller, basically. But, this game is NOTHING like playing an actual guitar. A real guitar is so much harder. :/

i love guitar hero…honestly when i first heard about it, I thought that only my rocker freinds and cuzzins would like it but then when i got that guitar in my arms and started strummin..i becomae addicted!! honestly, i played it for about 8 hours for a week straight…but now i calmed down on it becuz my cuzzin took it back..but i do manage to go there every week to play…we won so many songs, bought so many guitars and guitar players..but im stuck at hard bcuz the orange jus comes out of nowhere all the time.

Yeah.. Guitar hero is pretty fun, but it aint fun like the real thing. Even though it seems you can ACE a few songs. try playing on a “Real Guitar”

This seems like a good idea. Personally, i hate guitar heros though, mostly because of the fact that it\\\’s a complete rip off of guitar freaks, which started coming out in the 1990s, but it\\\’s just not that good to me. The controllers i have used didn\\\’t seem so solid, compared to the GF ASCs (arcade style controllers) that you can get for the ps2. That aside, i\\\’d come and play anyway if i was closer to you.

saw the comment about numb finger from playing guitar hero. Played Hero III for two hours straight. Woke up next morning with numb index finger (Green Finger!!). Its been a week now and have tried to not play till it heals but it is hard to not play!! Any comments to how long this numb fiinger last!! Its really starting to get annoying….

Granted it’s a GAME, but it’s pathetic when someone starts to think they are something specal when they are good at it. Playing this game does not mean you have any TALENT. This is just pretentious voyerism, a complete waste of time.
