Thanks to all of you who voted for meebo… because of you, we officially took home the “best consumer startup” award at the Crunchies Friday night. What makes this particularly special for us is that the winner was chosen by popular vote, which means all of you made this happen.
Here’s a picture of Danny and me with the award statue right after the show ended.
For those of you who missed it, the Crunchies was an awards-style show put on by TechCrunch, Read / Write Web, VentureBeat and GigaOm…all blogs that cover the startup space. The categories ranged from Best Overall (Facebook won) to Beat Clean Tech Startup (Tesla – the high performance electric car company – took that one).
The show was a lot of fun and really well put on. If you want to see a video of the whole thing, including a few fun musical performances (don’t get our expectations up too high… this was a Silicon Valley production…not Hollywood

I think that meebo should have myspaceim also because some people don’t want to download it. It freeze and give your computer a virus. So i think meebo should have myspaceim if those who don’t want their computer to have a virus.

One thing… Do we need to take up a collection, so you’ll stop taking photos with your cell phone? Looking at the photos, I started to think the whole post was a joke. I see that it’s not, but the pictures are.

I really like how in touch you guys are with your users. Unlike the various messengers we use on the site, meebo has a constant contact with the users, and I think will only lead to bigger and better things for the company as a whole.
I used meebo in Iraq and Kuwait, on rest and relaxation periods, to keep in touch with my family when other messengers couldn’t be installed for use. I know I’m not the only Marine to do it, too; Many of my guys were doing the same, before long.

Congratulations.
I love meebo. I’ve been using it for the better part of the last six months, and ever since a friend of mine told me about it, I’m hooked. Since I don’t have internet access at home, school is the place where I use it exclusively. Originally I wanted to use my old aim 5.9, but the school’s network wouldn’t allow the messenger to connect to the internet. A shame, but meebo came to the rescue. Now I’m finding myself using meebo even when I can use an external messenger. You all certainly made an addicting application.
Also, mega thanks for the firefox add on. Like adding fuel to the fire that is my meebo addiction

well meebo isz great..but meebo should aloud people too see the music ypu are listing to.. like if you are in lime wire or itunes or any type pf program that u have music in.then show what you are listing to..too all your friends..

A suggestion for Meebo:
When a user connects to meebo using iphone, can the site automatically reconnect in a situation of network interrruption. This is very common on iphone edge network that there are network interruptions which logs the user out of meebo.

You guys have one of the greates IMing sights ever concieved. Whoever had the idea to combine all the greatest IM’s was brilliant. I have referred so many people to use this website. A lot refused at first but once they saw it they thought it was a Godsend. It loads faster than AIM too. That was the main reason they like this website.

meebo needs improve ments in aim icon, profile setter, im views (i.e. sn(4:50:43): not [24:30]sn: ) and the profile viewer has meebo thing on bottom which is annoying!

I just discovered Meebo a few days ago thanks to Wordpress; anyway, since then I love Meebo ^^ … I’m in the office now so I can’t use messenger and I really hate those websites where you can use msn on-line because is so slow, and you can hardly have a decent conversation… but not with Meebo ^^ I also have more than one msn account and I got really surprised when I foud out that in Meebo I could use multiple accounts in only one site… even more comfortable and easier than messenger itself ^^

Congratulations! You guys are the best. I love your online IMs. I’ve tried others such as Trllian but I constantly have problems with our firewall. The “no-install” approach works beautifully.

I think there should be a background maker for Meebo users. For example, you could open an box on the Meebo page after signing in, and take pictures from the internet, or your computer, and draw on them. It should also have a drag and drop tool and a few others, perhaps even a way to add text to the image. Then hit “set background” and ta-da!
you think it could work? I have no idea how things like that are made but it would sure be cool.
