When we asked for translation help, we heard back from all around the world — from Swahili to Latin to Dutch. We got so excited that we’ve set up a new section in our new wiki! We’ve started it with empty templates of English text, and we’d love for people to complete (or create!) new pages with translations. If you help, add your name to our contributor’s list!
We’ve added all the languages that people have suggested we support, so feel free to add more. It’s pretty cool that meebo users are so international! As soon as the wiki tables get filled up, we’ll try to integrate them into meebo as fast as we can.
thanks everyone!

Hmmm…. I do not see “Telugu” in the list of languages for translations. It happens to be the second most widely used language in India after Hindi.
I would definitely like you to add it to the list AND I am sure you’d find a lot of contributors as well.

Hi!
Besides of all I would like to thank you for your work developing the meebo tool – for me it is very useful since it is the way that I have to have access to messenger at work.
Regarding the translation I would like to suggest the following:
- You should correct “Portugese” to “Portuguese”
- It would be useful to have the distinction of “Portuguese (from Portugal)” and “Portuguese (from Brazil) since in these kind of subject it is quite different – according to what I understood the Portuguese translations made until know are from Brazilians and not Portuguese people.
And more important I would like to know how can I help you adding the translation of the words in the tables? Is there a special website? Or should I send you an email (if then, what’s the email address?)?
Thank you,
Patrícia (from Portugal)

Folks, you do like this is an open source, non-profit project. But no, this is a very very commercial thing; you just raised $3.5M funding from investors but you still want people to do free work for you.

How come I don’t see PERSIAN (Farsi) in all those languages? I am using Meebo in Iran and i know a lot of people who are using Meebo here and are ready to be a translator.
So please add Persian too.

I just wanted to thank you for all that you have done with this program. It is a great way to keep in touch when you don’t have the ability to get on normal messengers. The sounds effects were a great add as well! And chance for more smilies? I personally think that yahoo messenger has some of the best and wide covered emotions. Thank you again!

I dont see Yoruba in the Language list.
Yorubas are the largest single ethno-lingusitic group in Africa. Yorubas number upwards of 40 million individuals throughout the region of West Africa.
Besides thier largest concentration in Nigeria (the largest African population in the world) there are also substantial indigenous Yoruba communities in the Republics of Benin and Togo, as well as diaspora Yoruba communities in Sierra Leone, Brazil, Cuba, and Trinidad.
Google has a Yoruba translation engine and I would be more than willing to help with your Yoruba translation for Meebo.

The Tamil translation is horrible. Too many typos, grammar problems, expressions that haven’t been used in the last 20 years or so. Really sucks.

We’re open to all discussions. But any meeting will have to be on the basis of withdrawing the First Job Contract. There have been five one-day public sector strikes in which millions of workers and students took part. An employers group has warned the protests are starting to hurt the economy. No Pasaran!

Special thanks to Elaine & Sandy, I did read Elaine’s posting on how meebo works & Sandy’s hardwork that went into it making it a huge success.
