Update! Quick reminder about tomorrow’s mobile meebo meetup! Paul and Danny will be on Caltrain train #324 (leaves San Francisco at 8:11am), with stops in Millbrae, Hillsdale and Palo Alto before Mountain View. Meet them on the second train with your morning coffee and muffin in tow. Hope you can make it!

Remember when you graduated to riding a real bicycle? It was a pretty big day! A year ago, meebo had just put on its training wheels. Back then, we barely had emoticons and were months away from group chat. Now, we’re taking off the training wheels and coming out of alpha!
We know it’s been a few weeks since our last release and I’m sure many of you suspected that something might be brewing…
The whole team has been working really hard to bring you one of the biggest releases we’ve ever had. Drumroll please…
The Big Ones
1) New visual design – Sandy and I were Photoshop newbies when we first designed meebo and we’ve been itching for an updated look. We’re thrilled to show off David’s latest work!
2) Pop outs – click on that little
icon in your IM window to “pop” the window out of the main meebo browser (don’t forget to disable any pop-up blockers you have for meebo.com).
3) Drag and drop buddy list management – Harry A. wrote, “I’d like a way to easily consolidate and manage groups.” Mike C., Frank R., and Rafael F. agree. The ability to move buddies between groups has been our most popular feature request for a while. Enjoy!
4) Skinning – we understand a few of you might be attached to the meebo’s first look and feel. If you are feeling nostalgic, we’ve introduced the ability to switch back to the old skin – just go to the preference area and select the ‘Classic’ skin. Keep an eye out for more skins in the future.
More good stuff…
* Individual sign on and off – now you can manage your screen names one-by-one. Just click on the drop-down menu in the left-hand console area.
* Localization – In addition to Bangla, Creole, Esperanto, Iloko, Jawa, Latin, Malagasy, Marathi, Mongolian, Nias, Swiss German, Thai, Uzbek support – we’ve also translated other parts of the UI such as buttons, menus, and links. The language updates dynamically based upon your location and preference too. Thai looks really good on the new front page!
* Updated Chat Logs – Chatlogs just got a facelift. Power-users (like Sandy and Andreas) will appreciate the new design and speedier loading times.
* AIM Profiles – This has been one of the top three requests for many weeks. AIM users, check out the ‘Set Profiles’ in the console area. Mark recently got engaged, guess what he announced in his profile this week! Congrats!
* Optimization – We’re always trying to make meebo better and faster. Those of you with very large buddylists, like user rnbmelody, will appreciate the new performance enhancements.
We’re a small team and while we’ve run through hundreds of test cases and also asked our friends to give the new release a spin, we’re pretty sure all of you will find many more edge cases and bugs in the new release (multiple skins, popouts, and sixty-nine languages, etc). Please let us know if you run into any problems. We’re keeping the last version of meebo available at http://classic.meebo.com/ in case you run into any issues (and it’s also a fun place to go to compare the before and after).
We’re going to be making updates pretty frequently as we hear from you so please holler if you spot anything or would like to make a suggestion. We always appreciate your feedback!
Take care!

Hi Elaine,
i was pleasantly surprised as i opened meebo.com this morning. The new interface is very nice looking and a pleasure to use.
Ever since i came across meebo i have uninstalled all messengers from my computer and stick to meebo.
Great work!
Thanks to the entire Meebo team.

November 3rd, 2006 at 11:38 pm
Aye caramba! I wasn’t sure I’d even gone to the right site at first! It looks great. You didn’t just change the look though, you must’ve changed the login form too because now my greasemonkey autologin script doesn’t work! Time to work on a fix now.
Congrats on graduation from beta!
November 3rd, 2006 at 11:43 pm
LOVE the new look! I was very suprised when I loged on and saw the changes! People working Meebo have been a definate life saver when it comes to Instant messaging-espically when the schools have a downloading policy in effect and most of the IM pages are blocked. The new interface is very nice-very user friendly (the old set up was too…) and the over all program is very nice.
People at Meebo: Thank you so much! Keep up the terrific work!

After you logged in, try to click the “Start or join a group chat” bottom, and hola~
But it’s really beautiful UI, I really shocked while I logged in this morning(Taiwna time).

November 4th, 2006 at 12:55 am
Thanks guys, the whole thing looks great!
I’ll set out to find an internal error, but with msn display name change, aim profile change, and the new chat log system, you won’t find anything better.
November 4th, 2006 at 1:15 am

Dear sir,
I like the meebo its very helping in a very excellent manner. Its my most loving site after google
i have a small problem to solve in meebo,
Q:when i logged in to yahoo in through meebo, i will get some offline messages but the timing of the offline messsage is showing the logged in time instead of actual offline message time. where as i am confused to get contacted with the concerned person.
your lovingly,
afzal
November 4th, 2006 at 2:32 am
Wow, thanks guys! It’s great hearing that you like the new look!
m r (or anyone else who doesn’t see the new look): You might be using an older, cached copy of meebo. If “refresh” doesn’t work then you may want to try clearing your browser’s cache and reloading.
November 4th, 2006 at 2:34 am
It looks great
but my browser gets struck ! somehow the easy navigatable old meebo
was great to me .
for photoshop newbies this work deserves lot of praise
And yeah

November 4th, 2006 at 3:02 am
Congratulations for the new look.. Its very nice… BUT
One thing.. Before everything was in English and now it is all in spanish.. please can you make it all be back in English like before? I dont want it in Spanish!
Hugs

November 4th, 2006 at 3:17 am
Bonege! Dankon!
Thanks for the Esperanto translation!!
November 4th, 2006 at 3:29 am
Oh .. Before when I pressed on disconnect, I could disconnect from individual messengers, like yahoo or icq,.. now I dont have that option! How annoying! I want my old meebo back, Where is it? I cant find it at \
November 4th, 2006 at 3:37 am
THANK YOU! The new log system is EXACTLY what I was asking for. You’re awesome
November 4th, 2006 at 3:54 am
Some really great updates that I’m sure many have been looking forward to. I appreciate the input you take from user feedback and I’m sure everyone else does! The new interface looks great, but also feels snappier and more powerful (if only everything were as simple yet powerful ie the search bar in chat logs). Great job!!
November 4th, 2006 at 4:41 am
On my end…
I have not been able to view the New Meebo..
I was chatting on the old when when I suddenly got cut off..
and now the new log in page does not load all the way loads as a blank page,
and says “Finished loading page with errors” …
I had to right click view source code to find the link to the forum, and I got back in through that way after discovering classic.meebo.com …
Again thanks for all the work you do! and I hope you get the log in page on all the servers fixed soon!
. I can’t wait to try out group chat

i love and i like the new face of meebo.. more power for all crew
November 4th, 2006 at 5:09 am
Sorry I can’t rave about the new release (yet), but it appears you haven’t fixed the “script error” bug that occurs in Mozilla and Netscape browsers on startup, which was called to Sandy’s attention (thru our common friend Kate) about 3 weeks ago and which she said she’d fix in the next release!
Welp…the next release is…now! Cosmetic stuff is all well and good and I note you’ve added a gmail signon to the opening page (gmail is jabber so that’s pretty redundant, I would say), but if the program runs so slow that it creates disturbances on users’ local Mozilla-based systems, THAT’S A MAJOR DYSFUNCTIONALITY, wouldn’t you guys say, and shouldn’t it be addressed with a priority higher than prettification?
Still, of course I (and my whole development staff) applaud your marvelous efforts — and this, as always, is just a friendly suggestion…
Rob
November 4th, 2006 at 5:26 am
Mohammed Afzal: That is becuase meebo works through GAIM (open-source application) and doesn’t store your offline messages for you, which Yahoo IM does. So it can only delivery it to you on the time it logs you in.
Margaret: If you’re viewing meebo in Spanish, it might be because you or someone else might have accidentally have pressed the Spanish link. To change it, look at all those links on the bottom of the page and choose English. Or if you can’t, here’s the link; http://wwwl.meebo.com/index-en.html
Your second problem can also be solved by actually clicking on the username on the left (the accounts you are currently logged in on) and choose Sign Off from the drop down box.
Rachel: Currently, you can’t change Display Pictures.

November 4th, 2006 at 5:33 am
Not to “pile it on”, but even though you guys brag proudly about the new drop-down name control feature, guess what? IT DOESN’T WORK, totally…that is, the name doesn’t change in group-chatrooms!
Just thought you might like2know…:)
November 4th, 2006 at 5:47 am
Simply swept by the new features and interface.
November 4th, 2006 at 5:47 am
Holy crap, this looks AWESOME. I can’t wait to dig in!
November 4th, 2006 at 5:53 am
I agree with courtayz. I need my webcam … and photo sharing… and the ability to send files. Every time I need to do one of these tasks, I have to log out of meebo and into Messenger. I’d love to use meebo exclusively, but until meebo supports those features, I can’t.
LOVE the new look… and thanks for a great product! I recommend it to all my chat buddies.
November 4th, 2006 at 6:14 am
THANKS ARKADIAN
I will check those solutions… you are kind thoughtful, helpful and wonderful!
November 4th, 2006 at 6:16 am

November 4th, 2006 at 6:34 am
I really like your solution- great for fun. But if you are looking for the Live Chat solution for business, you better try LIVECHAT ContactCenter! Keep on good work folks!
November 4th, 2006 at 6:58 am
LIVE Chat costs money.. meebo is free. . DUH..,. . , I am liking the new meebo more and more as the morning goes by. .
Thanks Meebo people! It is now in English again and I found where to disconnect the messengers, after Arkadian helped me, so kindly…I also reccommend meebo to all my buddies!
Do I get a meebo teeshirt??
Margaret
November 4th, 2006 at 7:08 am
I love the new setup guys… it shocked me at first. before i signed in and everything was different on the sign in page. but after i signed in and got the feel for everything… i really love the pop-out for the IM windows…I can now have the priority converstations out side of Meebo, so i don’t lose them…but i think everything is great now!
Samantha
November 4th, 2006 at 7:15 am
Live Chat: why CAN’T you use Meebo for “business”? I use it for some very serious stuff (though not “business” in the conventional sense of the word, as I am ANTI-”business” when it comes to anything having to do with computer-use, and possibly when it comes to just about anything else that doesn’t absolutely REQUIRE huge concentrations of capital to get done), and it works quite well — though it can always be improved, and made to work EVEN BETTER.
Trying to make money off people’s communication behavior is to me the lowest of the lowest, scummiest thing people can do. It’s a little bit like trying to bottle air, then polluting the environment so that people are forced to buy pure air. That’s already being done, with water, have you noticed? And it’s gonna get worse. RETHINK YOUR CAREER PLANS, Live Chat!
Not to be controversial or anything…LOL!
November 4th, 2006 at 7:22 am
Did these changes happen to the website for Macintosh users? Cause I don’t see a difference! Looks exactly the same as before!
Anyways, I’d still like to say how glad I am to have found out about this site…I’m at a school that uses a proxy server, and therefore doesn’t allow its students to use any kind of messenger/IM service.
Well, hopefully I’ll be able to see these changes too soon enough!
Thanks,
Etelka
November 4th, 2006 at 7:34 am
Robert: Couldn’t agree with you more. Charging people for communicating through the net when there’s options like meebo and millions of other communications services is completely and utterly stupid.
Rachel: You’re welcome
. Meebo t-shirts are (as far as i know) only given out in contests or given to people for special help. But it would be a good idea if the team set up a t-shirt shop. I’d buy one
Etelka, it shouldn’t matter if you’re using a Mac or PC… Pressing F5 (refresh) should fix the problem.

I can’t get it to work at all since the update.
November 4th, 2006 at 8:15 am
And Meebo just keeps getting better and better. Great work!
November 4th, 2006 at 8:33 am
Wow, I haven’t used Meebo for about a week. I just went to log in and was totally blown away by that pretty sign in page! Everything looks great! I’m so excited that y’all are doing so well!

Sweet look! I still have a problem though, I’ve had it for a while, I can’t add MSN Buddies! Help!
November 4th, 2006 at 9:38 am
I have a problem. I was talking to someone using MSN and I tried the popup window. The icon that shows what protocal the buddy was duplicated. I tried it again and I saw 3 MSN icons. This whole thing is VERY exciting!
November 4th, 2006 at 9:41 am
I want to work in a company like Meebo… You guys surely rock… I am really thrilled by the new refreshing look of meebo. I guess the next feature you should target is file transfer..
November 4th, 2006 at 9:41 am
Also, I have to bots that I nickname “Program” and “THE Program”. These two have double names on my buddy list in the same column.
November 4th, 2006 at 9:52 am
Looking good
November 4th, 2006 at 9:53 am
WOW!! I saw it this morning and asked my boyfriend if he knew about it!!

Basically all this to say.. thankyou and congratulations. Meebo is BRILLIANT.

November 4th, 2006 at 10:40 am
Hey -
I’m loving the new look but I have a small problem: I logged in to the meebo widget on my Netvibes site (generally, I just use this instead of opening up a new tab for meebo), and while I saw the new graphics and the blog, my buddy list doesn’t appear to be anywhere on the page. What can I do about this?
Elyse
November 4th, 2006 at 10:45 am
yea once i went on meebo i was like whoa. dis is really pretty. anywayz can someone please tell me wat a widget is?
November 4th, 2006 at 10:45 am

November 4th, 2006 at 11:03 am
what is that ahnoying picture on the meebo pop up? can someone please take that off?
November 4th, 2006 at 11:25 am
Hi, I\’M SO EXCITED! One of the main reasons I stopped using your chat was because I was stuck on your windows which made it hard to see who was contacting me. This is awesome!
November 4th, 2006 at 11:29 am
Wow! I logged in this morning and was totally blown away by the new look. I LOVE IT
Great job!
November 4th, 2006 at 11:30 am
it’s even better. looks and feels much cooler and the ability to take the windows for a walk is amazing.
keep up the good work.
November 4th, 2006 at 11:41 am
Well meebo looks great , but i was hoping you guys could maybe put in like display photo ? cause on an ordinary messenger you have a diplay photo . In meebo you can\’t put anything . So i was hoping you guys could try to put display photo in meebo
November 4th, 2006 at 11:47 am
Awesome, but there’s one minor issue.
The buddy icon isn’t translucent anymore, and blocks text in the IM window.
This may have happened after testing the pop-out feature, I can’t tell for sure.
November 4th, 2006 at 11:51 am
i love the new design, it’s awesome :] but i think that the profile should have features for changing the text and color. & to be able to change your icon would be nice too! just some suggestions! Thanks.
November 4th, 2006 at 11:54 am
thanks for all the support!
Margaret, you can now individually log off of your accounts by mousing over your account list on the left hand side of the background console. each one of those drop down menus has a “Sign Off” menu option that allows you to sign out just one account.
let us know if it’s not working
November 4th, 2006 at 12:23 pm
The next time I see you walking down Castro, I will be sure to stop and congratulate you and the rest of the tem on the amazing update!
November 4th, 2006 at 12:23 pm
The update is absolutely awesome! This is probably the best update I’ve seen since becoming a user.
My favorite update is the pop-out windows but a close second is the theme.
Thanks for making Meebo better.
November 4th, 2006 at 12:28 pm
hi ppl
November 4th, 2006 at 12:30 pm
Great job guys – as last time, nice use of colors. I cant wait untill I turn 18 (2 years) so i can apply for a job w/ you guys. I already know xHTML, CSS, mySQL, PHP, Javascript (and ajax features of javascript), Actionscript (prettymuch liike JS), and am learning VB right now, then C++. After that its Python. I’m good with Photoshop and Flash as well and code using notepad. – Think i’m eligable for a job? =\
Keep up the great work!

Thanks !
November 4th, 2006 at 1:06 pm
I am getting a lot of ‘undefined’s
November 4th, 2006 at 1:07 pm
For four days I was busy with work. I never got a chance to be online on meebo. On the fifth day I was shocked !
Awesome !
November 4th, 2006 at 1:22 pm
NICE MEEBO! I loved the surprise of opening Meebo up yesterday and seeing a new look and fun features! You guys rock! It’s motivation to learn more about programming because you guys are doing really well. It’s all gonna be server side soon, it rocks, especially if you’re a U.S. Marine moving around alot, thanks!
November 4th, 2006 at 1:30 pm
Lurve it! In the /faise/. Shinie new look. I meebo from work (don’t tell my boss) and I adore you guys for all of this. Heard about you from a coworker (don’t tell the boss!). You guys are awesome. All thumbs up.
November 4th, 2006 at 1:35 pm
if any one you are getting “undefined” make sure to completely clear your browse cache and/or reload your browser
check out: http://forum.meebo.com/viewtopic.php?t=11139
November 4th, 2006 at 1:45 pm
NEEDS:
1) File transferring system
2) Custom wallpapers you save to your Meebo ID
Overall, great update!
November 4th, 2006 at 1:57 pm
flippin\’ awesome new design!!! I love it all already!
November 4th, 2006 at 2:00 pm
Congrats.
It will be good if we could have the pop-out by itself
without the main window around. I frankly don’t see the point
of having it in pop-out if you can’t close the main window.
It just makes things more complicated. However, if we were able
to have the pop-out by itself will be very nice, and a link on it
lo launch the main window for changing preferences adding
accounts etc…
November 4th, 2006 at 2:01 pm
hey
great new look meebo, tell you what would be cool a place to use webcams or a picture x
November 4th, 2006 at 2:08 pm
how do i edit my aim profile… or did i read that part wrong…
feel free to let me know
sn-kidtoysrcool122
i absolutly love meebo!!! the new meebo is wonderful!!!
i think that meebo is better then the actual aim… so i dont even have aim on my computer anymore =)
the meebo crew is awesome!!!!!
November 4th, 2006 at 2:10 pm
p.s.
the new meebo looks nice and is definitely getting better.
November 4th, 2006 at 2:12 pm
@ paul790
If it would popout by itself, then they would have to worry about popup blockers, and things along those lines.
Maby a setting that makes it auto – popout windows, that i dont think would cause any issues.
And the main window must be there, because that is where the scripts are generated for the popup i think, so without the main window it would not know what todo really.
In firefox, it would just be a tab that you will barly notice
November 4th, 2006 at 2:14 pm
thank you Meebo team!!!
November 4th, 2006 at 2:22 pm
so i logged on last night and WOWZERS! meebo makes matt love meebo more and more and more and more and more everyday! =o] everytime i show a new friend, i make a new meebo convert. diggin it!
November 4th, 2006 at 2:27 pm
It looks fantastic and the new options are useful, but it works much slower and the new automatic language acquisition functions are annoying because it still leaves half the site in english.
November 4th, 2006 at 2:38 pm
i think that meebo is great….but it would be more popular if you pubbed it more!
November 4th, 2006 at 2:57 pm
yowza!!! good stuff, great work
November 4th, 2006 at 3:11 pm
loooooooooove it! you guys are amazing. i tell everyone about meebo.
November 4th, 2006 at 3:44 pm
How exciting! Congratulations and keep up the excellent work.

omg…i love you guys…your releases always astonish me…and this one is nothing short is amazing…i love the look and feel and its a definite upgrade. you know what would be greater…if we could save individual away messages…becuase it seems i do all my creative thinking in my away meessages and i loose them once i hit available, but its just a suggestion:-)…anyways THANX MEEBO TEAM!!!
November 4th, 2006 at 4:00 pm
I love this release & its features. Thanks!!
November 4th, 2006 at 4:11 pm
@ Shane Reustle
Yes, good point. The guys at koolim.com have a pop-out option
that does not require the main window. I still prefer meebo
because is more stable and is getting better. Hopefully some day
we will have that option at meebo as well. And yes, I use only Firefox
Congrats to the meebo team for the upgrade.
November 4th, 2006 at 4:13 pm
I saw that map you guys had of the IMs in the past fifteen minutes and I was thinking that the background of meebo now is kind of boring, so mabey make the background of meebo the map???
November 4th, 2006 at 5:03 pm
omg! meebo is so awesome! i absolutly love how now i can make a profile! the last thing to make meebo perfect would be TO BE ABLE TO CHANGE FONT AND FONT COLOR IN PROFILE. that would make it even better!. great job and changes,

November 4th, 2006 at 7:18 pm
You guys are amazing. Thanks for the AIM-profile ability! I’m using it to promote meebo.
November 4th, 2006 at 8:21 pm
Eversince I’ve discovered meebo, I’ve been using it whenever I’m on another computer that doesn’t have an MSN messenger, an AIM messenger, Yahoo, and gmail. I absolutely love the new interface and design. I also use the widget on my hosting site for live chats. But I was also wondering, will meebo be turned into an application later in time? If so I would LOVE that! An all-in-one application of your instant messengers. I’ve heard of other all-in-ones, but I really like meebo alot, and like to see it as an application as well.

LALING

it’s a bit harder to tell what your friends’ statuses (sp?) are, since the icons are all web 2.0 and tiny. I think I could take either or, but not both.
Beautiful update, though, really!
November 4th, 2006 at 11:40 pm
okay, so i use meebo daily, and i was at a friends house and i logged in, to find a plethora of new options, as well as a sleek new design.. however, now, i am at home and it looks the same, has this happened to anyone else?

Keep it coming!!
November 5th, 2006 at 3:00 am
hi elaine!
it’s very nice of you on the meebo team to come up with this updated releases and features. it really helps a lot of people like me who have a company-provided PC but could not install any messenger because of restrictions set by the company administrator. there’s just a thought playing in my mind now and i wish to share it with you. there’s just this hope that maybe someday, meebo can include videochats as well? i hope so, it would be very very nice of you if you can come up with that.
thank you very much and i hope to hear from you.

Hi,
The Meebo integration with 30boxes Webtop was broken in this release: only the blog is visible, but the buddies list ain’t.
Thanks,

I’m sure you guys had enough praise
, but just had to say that the new changes are AWESOME! I can finally forget about Kopete and Gaim now with detachable windows! By far the best feature yet — that and the drag and drop buddy sorting… Keep it up!

November 5th, 2006 at 11:25 am
I love the changes thanks!!!!!!!!!!! I would really like to see a feature where when a specific person comes on you get alerted. That would make it so easy when I am waiting for someone to sign on. Thanks.

November 5th, 2006 at 1:28 pm
Hi. I’m Dan T’s gf and after reading his post, I decided to post a more grammatically correct post so those at Meebo could actually understand him. Yes, he speaks an online language all his own. That’s why he’s cute.
Transcription of Dan T’s comment:
Hey great work guys!
This is a really great way to make IM truly mobile, while remaining quite fully featured.
My girlfriend and I thank you… you have allowed us the ability to chat while at work.
We would love to see a kiss emoticon if possible. Yes, because we are corny like that.
Thanks for everything!

It’s awesome and looks really cool. Now not to be rude or budging it or anything, but all that is really left is alowing users to make there own profiles and edit them, and also have there own icons appear next to there name!!!

November 5th, 2006 at 8:40 pm
Wow…Great Job!…Salute for the meebo team
November 5th, 2006 at 8:54 pm
The quality found in Meebo is pretty exciting. You often don’t find these kinds of websites to be functional.
When I started using meebo almost 3 months ago, I was pretty skeptical that this would really function. I’ve been blown away at how seemless all of this really is.
I also like how personable the blogs and staff comments are. I feel like I know the creators of this application, which creates an almost bond with your work (however strange that sounds). I’m cheering for you all.
Keep up the good work.
November 5th, 2006 at 9:15 pm
i love meebo… and i would really really love meebo if i can upload a small pic for ID avatar
tee hee i love meebo!
November 5th, 2006 at 9:15 pm
hi =D
This is great! The new meebo is perfect. Probably the most exciting thing I saw was in the blog when you said we could now have aim profiles. Acctually, I cannot figure out how, and I could use a little help…
But anyways great job team! You guys are the best!
November 5th, 2006 at 9:39 pm
Hi =D
I was so surprised to see the new meebo! The most exciting thing was when I saw in the blog that AIM users could have a profile now, although I need some help figuring that out…
Anyways, great job team! Yet another leap for meebo!
November 5th, 2006 at 9:57 pm
Hi,
thanks a million for the pop-out feature. Having the buddy list as a seperate window is really a must-have! What’s nice is that subsequent chat windows open then as a separate window too. Meebo’s no even closer to a “real” app, than it was before.
One comment though: Can someone please check the mechanism to get the i18n working? It’s not only the numerrous “undefined” buttons, but for german there are really old translations used, which are updated in the wiki, but which don’t show up in the interface.
THANKS
November 5th, 2006 at 10:34 pm

November 6th, 2006 at 12:18 am
Meebo Team,
You have yet to cease to amaze me. Amazing job guys! I love the fact that you take almost everything that you could want in a multi protocol Desktop Client program, and throw it in to a beautiful web client! Wow… Keep up the fantastic job.

Is there some trick to make the website appear? I’m using Firefox 2.0, and all i see is a blue page? Or has meebo crashed? I deleted the cookies, too…
HELP!
November 6th, 2006 at 1:15 am
And the same in IE7. So i’m going to assume it’s crashed again. Also, good job on filling the JS console with error messages. This one is especially funny:
Error: ui.button is not a constructor

November 6th, 2006 at 1:23 am
dear meebo,
i friggin love you guys. like THIS much. you everything i could ever want from an instant messenger, all right there in a handy browser window. and sometimes you pop out! but only when i ask you to (nicely, of course)! sweet! honest, guys, keep up the good work.
suzi
p.s. will you bear my children? if not, it’s cool. i’ll still love you forever.
November 6th, 2006 at 2:36 am
Well done
November 6th, 2006 at 2:48 am
Hello,
It’s nice to see some progress in this piece of software. I’m using it almost daily for a month now, and it’s much better then ICQ 2 go (doesn’t matter if java or flash one, both of them are freezing)
But after the update, I can see only Numbers instead of names in my offline contacts. Also As I’ve several hundreds contacts, it vould be pretty nice to have at lease some possibility to search within offline contacts. It would be nice to have them categorized the same way as online contacts, or at least possibility to sort them by alphabet.
But thank you very much for this great IM client anyways.
November 6th, 2006 at 2:53 am
Great update! The pop out system rules! Now I love to use it, it’s better this way than not seeing a new message because my browser is minimalised and another tab is active.
My favourite feature request now: default smileys for each protocol (MSN smileys for MSN, ICQ smileys for ICQ,…)
November 6th, 2006 at 3:32 am
your bolg is so excellent,i like it very much^^
November 6th, 2006 at 3:40 am
Just want to say that I’m loving the new look and it works really well. Keep it up!!!
November 6th, 2006 at 4:12 am
A very nice change indeed. However I personaly think that the fact that it is not possible to delete the chat logs attempts against privacy. You can not delete them, ore donwload them. Why is it that you have not pushed forward this feature?
LEo
November 6th, 2006 at 4:20 am
Pop-outs are a good call. I juggle enough tabs as it is just browsing.
November 6th, 2006 at 5:17 am
I got a big surprise with the meebo new interface, is a new experience.
I miss the background buddy icon list display at the upper right corner of the chat windows. Why it was changed to a solid picture? Most users don’t like the previous buddy icon display?
November 6th, 2006 at 5:22 am
It was surprising, really, to see the new skin for Meebo, but even funnier it was to notice it was in Portuguese, wich is my native language.
But well, all I wanna say here is I wish you Meebo staff all the success and satisfaction for your work and so.

hey meebo team, this is great surprise to see the new meebo facelift. Great going meebo team. Every release is making meebo look better than before.
November 6th, 2006 at 5:41 am
Hey meebo team,
I like the new design as well, but I’ve noticed that the “log on invisible” option doesn’t seem to work properly any more.
Anyone else have that problem?
Kind regards from Germany

Pop-Out rocks!!!!
November 6th, 2006 at 6:24 am
I noticed in several places that i am getting text that says ‘undefined’ instead of what it should be. i will try a hard refresh of the page, maybe that will help.
otherwise, excellent work! i LOVE the new interface and i will continue my evangelizing
p.s. where are your meebome widgets so we can talk to YOU!
November 6th, 2006 at 6:26 am
p.s.s the hard refresh (ctl+F5) fixed the undefined problem.

Love the new look, you guys do tons of releases but the visual changes are always minimal which probably leaves most common users wondering if there were any changes made at all. But this one definitely shows some improvements on the visual end!!
Loving all the new features as well! Keep up the awesome work over there!
November 6th, 2006 at 7:05 am
Excellent work!!!!!!!!
November 6th, 2006 at 7:06 am
Wow, what a nice “little” surprise this morning. I log into Meebo, like I do every morning and WAM! brand spanking new cool as sh#@ interface. Well done and kudos to the UI team.
November 6th, 2006 at 7:20 am
Wow! Freaking awesome! I love the new look.
November 6th, 2006 at 7:22 am
I’m ready to switch over to Meebo from Trillian, with one reservation. Because each of your servers has a different hostname, when I turn off popup blocking for one of them, I still have popup blocking in place for the others. I guess over time I’ll get them all, but it’s a nuisance now. Any reason why all your servers should just be http://www.meebo.com?
November 6th, 2006 at 7:35 am
I really like Meebo, which I used from my workplace where MSN works very badly. I knew of some MSN clients over there, but none of them satisfied me since I found this. I use it in Norwegian because I want to learn it – I really appreciate language tools. Now I may try Meebo in Latin.
I’m also interested in your team because I also lead a small independent programming develop group.
Greetings from Argentina!
November 6th, 2006 at 7:37 am
Great improvements! I especially like the faster loading chat transcripts!
Now, if you could make the flashing whenever there is a message easier to see, I would be truly happy!
November 6th, 2006 at 7:50 am
Excellent additions! I love the ability to drag items between the 2 areas.
November 6th, 2006 at 8:06 am
What a pleasant surprise this morning to see the new interface! I really appreciate all of your work on this really great product!!!!!! All of the improvements are super because you really listen to the users.
Thanks again!!!

It’s Great!
I thought Classic was good but this is even better.
I love the pop out and the slick, clean look – keep up the good work.
November 6th, 2006 at 9:18 am
NICE JOB!!! Like the new features very much!
Way 2 go doods!
November 6th, 2006 at 9:25 am
The new design looks faboo! I can’t wait to give it a try.
November 6th, 2006 at 9:28 am
Very nice. Meebo classic was great, but this is even better. The speed increase is really the biggest plus. Is it going to be possible to create custom skins for submission? While I love the new ui theme, the service status icons from meebo classic were much easier to take in at a quick glance. (I’m also a fan of tango, and would love to have a meebo skin w/ tango icons. http://tango.freedesktop.org/Tango_Desktop_Project).
Amazing job guys. Keep it up.
November 6th, 2006 at 9:29 am
Well done; this looks fantastic, and I’m sure it will work as well as it looks. Can’t thank you enough for this wonderful service!
November 6th, 2006 at 9:30 am

November 6th, 2006 at 9:35 am
I appreciate the new look and UI improvements. You guys are a skilled bunch.
November 6th, 2006 at 9:57 am
Wow! Before meebo I could never believe so much was possible using a web browser!! As my friend Matt put it… “finally people are using javascript for something other some stars following my mouse around, maxing out my CPU”.
You old UI was fantastic… and the new one is soo good it leaves me short of words to praise it.
The new features were like my personal wish list being fulfilled. Exactly what I had wanted! Great work guys!
Keep on the good work and give us File X-fers and buddy icon support next
November 6th, 2006 at 10:03 am
Wow! What a beautiful new interface! Looks really great and seems more tranquil and cohesive somehow! I did notice, though, that on my Samsung Q1 UMPC that the left-hand menu is cut off just past the “Accounts” link. Nothing below that shows unless I switch to one of the higher resolutions — is there a way to have the main background screen scrollable to see all the options without switching resolution? Thanks! Keep up the great work!! – Floyd -

Your team continues to do a great job with the GUI and functionality.
The GUI is very pleasant, and I always look forward to the next release – you really are doing a great job of listening to the community.
I was not even expecting the improvement in speed on the logs, and there you go and delivery there as well!

i opened meebo.com and thought i mistyped in the address.
this new layout is more than amazing, not to mention the pop out windows!
November 6th, 2006 at 5:27 pm
I wanted to reply to the comment that says InnerWorkings has “stolen” Meebo’s logo – that statement is incorrect. In fact, InnerWorkings has been in business since late 2002 and we’ve been using our “thought bubble” logo all that time. InnerWorkings provides learning solutions for .NET developers to improve their coding skills, so the “thought bubbles” are a key part of the company’s identity and reflect our thought leadership in the field of software expertise: http://www.innerworkings.com/Products/TryItNow.aspx
I wish Meebo all the best with their promising suite of collaborative tools, but I did want to point out that InnerWorkings is the originator of the “thought bubble” logo. Thanks.

Very nice, like the layout. Only worked this morning for me, now its just blank page with the normal login things. Its been like this for a couple days now, anyone know whats wrong?

Looks great! I am loving the new interface. Although i do have one little annoyance.
I am not a big fan of how the text wraps around the user avatar.

thanks for the wonderful program! i thought what we had was satisfying, but you totally erased that wrong notion.
November 7th, 2006 at 2:20 am
Wow, the new features are really great. I especially like the ability to pop the windows in and out (makes for easy alt-tabbing) and the spiffy new layout. ^^
keep up the great work!

i have question here, why meebo didnt include MySpace IM to the service list?
November 7th, 2006 at 6:54 am
I love the new look!
November 7th, 2006 at 6:57 am
I love the update… I *LOVE* the drag between groups feature… but I have one request. “Rename” and “Remove” is too close for me. Might I suggest “Remove” be renamed “Delete”. Thanks.
November 7th, 2006 at 7:45 am
good job
November 7th, 2006 at 8:01 am
I\’ve been using meebo for sometime now, and just logged in a few minutes ago: Simply stunned with the new features! Got to tell you, It really feels like a giant leap …Keep it up and thanks!
November 7th, 2006 at 8:06 am
This new meebo look is great. Its easy to use and it has my favorite feature the profiles, I had wanted one for weeks. I cant download aim or yahoo on my computer so thanks for letting me be able to use them. Keep up the awesome work.
November 7th, 2006 at 8:50 am
i like ur new meebo thing but i have to say its EXTREMELY slow and causes my computer screen to freeze especiall when in chat rooms
November 7th, 2006 at 10:07 am
I like what you have done to improve meebo. but i was wondering if you could make it to where we can upload pictures onto our profile…so when some1 IM’s us they can see it, like on yahoo and aim.
November 7th, 2006 at 10:20 am
how was the meet-up? i 100% planned to go, then remembered mid day yesterday that today is voting day! i hope the meebos put their ballots in before they left town. I did not have time to catch that train. Had to go try and oust the governator.

I dont see much difference from the old one.
When will you integrate audio chat and video?
That will be a leap indeed!
Thanks.

November 7th, 2006 at 2:23 pm
I would love it if you could make us meeboians be able to have display pictures!! its the only complaint i have about meebo…other then thats i love it!! great job!
November 7th, 2006 at 3:07 pm
I noted that Meebo Yahoo messenger will show offline messages with the wrong time. It would be good to find out the exact time the message was actually sent to you … like they do it on yahoo messenger.
November 7th, 2006 at 4:42 pm
I love meebo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
November 7th, 2006 at 6:44 pm
greetings from the little red dot called singapore.
I love meebo. Been using it for the last few weeks and love the way it connects me to so many different IM clients at once. Thanks Meebo Team.
Your new interface looks great now too!
November 7th, 2006 at 7:00 pm
I love it all! Especially the ability to set up a profile because I always felt as though that was the one failing of meebo. Good job guys. My only complaint is that I can’t bold or underline just one word, I have to bold or underline everything. I know it’s small, but it matters a bit to me. I still love meebo though!
November 7th, 2006 at 7:42 pm
this new stuff dosent load on my comp. the screen just shows like a meebo id login, and the screen’s white.

November 8th, 2006 at 7:32 am
hey guys, i am so excited about your upgrade! i do wish one thing though…i really enjoyed how the history of a conversation was pulled up for the day when you talked to someone again, after you closed the window previous. it was a nice way to look back and remember what was discussed earlier!
thanks again guys for all your hard work in making this such a useful tool!
November 8th, 2006 at 7:58 am
Just adding to this to show my appreciation and props for the new meebo interface. Much quicker, flashier, and just more fun.

Very good and even better then before, thanks for all this work you have put on.
November 8th, 2006 at 10:05 pm
It looks spectacular!
There is one small inconvenience however. In the IM window, when there is a buddy icon present, all of the text wraps around it. This can be annoying when you are scrolling through the text. I liked the in-the-background buddy icons better.
Great Job!
November 8th, 2006 at 11:45 pm
Honestly.. the new meebo.com design rocks! :VV: :VV:

Thanks for the great work on meebo! One question for you guys: can I have my favorite picture put on meebo as my image?
Thanks!
November 9th, 2006 at 9:48 pm
Elaine,
I am not able to see the exact timings of the offline messages. It displays the time when i log in. It would be really gr8 if you guys could work on that.
The new meebo rocks!!
Kudos!
November 9th, 2006 at 9:53 pm
thank you verry much
November 10th, 2006 at 3:40 am
Hi! Many thanks for the awesome new release….your whole hearted efforts are really appreciated.
November 10th, 2006 at 10:27 am
Please make your new release IE-friendly please. I can only use IE at my office and eversince your new release, using meebo at my office has become a painful experience. Its very slow loading up. Hope you can do something about this. Thanks & you will always have my full support. Good job guys!
November 10th, 2006 at 1:10 pm
Two things:
1. It would be nice to have some way to get an overview of *all* your logs at once. (And some way to export those logs, if you desire.)
2. If you’re signed into AIM from meebo in two places at once, you get the good ol’ AOL System Message asking whether you want to sign off the other location. Some way to pool the connection, perhaps…?
November 14th, 2006 at 5:36 pm
I like the new update … but would really like a feature to clear past Chat logs ….
November 24th, 2006 at 11:39 am
I was wondering if there was any way to keep you AIM away message on, but when you close your AIM buddy list, the away message goes into the toolbar instead of being an open window on the screen?
December 7th, 2006 at 12:23 pm
You Rock.. just wish there was sumthn to do with meebo being blocked at the schools and offices.. repeater never works kicks me off to the DNS IP add

Hey – My screen name got suspended in AIM for some reason and I’ve set up a new name. I can’t remember all my buddies and can’t seem to get any help. Can you advise me on how to retrieve the screen names of the buddies on my old SN?
I love Meebo, by the way. Keep up the good work.

It worked this morning, I dont know whats wrong but when i open http://www.meebo.com, i just see a blue page. No errors, just blue page. I cleared the cache, disabled my firewall, tried it in ie, reinstalled and uninstalled both browsers… but i still get the blue page.
Too bad coz i have ditched all of my messengers and shifted to meebo. Now i had to reinstall some of them coz its not working for me. Any ideas? I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
